Green plastics: prospects for PROLIFIC results

PROLIFIC News

How do PROLIFIC achievements support ongoing research and development in sustainable plastics?

A question that Annamaria Celli of our partner UNIBO answered in her talk “Sustainable Plastics Characteristics, Management and Research Trend” at Filitalia International symposium last week.

Examples from different research projects illustrated how bio-based monomers, fillers or other functional additives can make plastics much greener.

In PROLIFIC we will replace polymers with organic residues from e.g. coffee silver skin or include coffee waste derived polyphenols with antioxidant activity in packaging material.
